Tools and Tips for Clinic Visits and Hospital Stays

Kids with cystic fibrosis and other special medical needs can have multiple medical clinic visits, hospital visits and overnight stays. It can be a challenging time for the whole family.

Clinic visits can be stressful and time-consuming. Overnight hospital stays can be even more challenging. Worried parents want to be with their special child but often have other obligations at home like siblings and jobs to attend to. The ill child may be frightened and demanding.

Knowing what to expect and having good parenting responses can really help reduce the stress and frustrations that naturally occur with hospital stays and clinic visits.
